FELLED NOT!

Felled Not! No Warrior Shall Be Felled By Invisible Wounds

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) are at epidemic proportions affecting thousands of troops returning from war. These invisible wounds are still being ignored by many in the military. The stigma is still prevalent despite the military’s insistence that there is none. Families are deeply affected and family members are suffering themselves from Secondary Traumatic Stress Disorder (STSD).

Though the subject is negative we still feel that it is important to speak out. We can’t expect to tackle these problems if we aren’t willing to talk about them.  We must educate civilians and military alike.  You may see yourself as someone who is not affected by this problem, but there is a good chance that you will be effected at some point with so many combat veterans returning from multiple deployments. Sometimes we have no choice but to step up and speak out.

If you want to know about the REAL struggles and the REAL price being paid for our freedom here in this country, you will find it here. We are not qualified counselors, however, we are qualified SURVIVORS, taking each day one step at a time. PTSD is not something you get rid of, but rather a force that will redefine the way life your life is lived. It is the NEW NORMAL for thousands of families and it will become more prevalent with each day our troops are at war.

The American people need to come together in their communities to provide encouragement and support for our returning troops and their families. We can’t rely solely on the VA, the military, or the government to take care of our warriors and their families.

Our troops have made the sacrifice to keep our nation safe, giving us the freedoms we have all come to appreciate as American citizens. It is our turn to serve our nation by stepping up to support, honor, and encourage those who stood in the gap on our behalf.

Freedom Is Never Free! The ultimate sacrifice is not the only sacrifice being made for each of us living in this country. Let’s make sure our troops return home with the honor and support they deserve.
