Help Needed for Christmas Packages

ITEMS NEEDEDTwas three weeks before OPSEND… with volunteers in a flurry.   Care package items are needed… and needed in a hurry!

Things are really buzzing around the Military Missions office as everyone is preparing for the largest care package assembly of the year, Operation S.E.N.D. Christmas (OPSEND). We expect this to be the largest one yet! If you are in the Lexington area, we hope you will be able to come out and participate as we wrap items and assemble baggies for the 100’s on care packages that will be heading overseas to our deployed men & women. Our list of names has continued to grow this year, despite the news reports that our troops have come home.

We are in need of several items to make sure we can send a Christmas package to every name on our list. If you would like to donate some of these items, it would be GREATLY appreciated, and remember your donation is tax deductible. You can drop the items by our office or ship them to us at 3650 Boston Rd, Lexington Ky 40514. Items are needed before Oct. 30th if possible.

ITEMS CURRENTLY NEEDED THE MOST

Puzzle books (about 5×7″)

Hard candy (individually wrapped) such as butterscotch, peppermint, Jolly Ranchers

Beef sticks such as Slim Jims (short ones around 5″ fit best in baggies)

Quart size baggies

We will continue to post updates to our website and facebook page as OPSEND draws near, so please check back often! Also, if you plan to attend OPSEND, please click here to register.
